Everybody Hates Chris Show Summary

The show is loosely based on Chris Rock's childhood experience. He also narrates the show. The show follows Chris and his family as he grows up in Brooklyn in the 80's. Chris' nose to the ground parents had him bused to a predominantly white middle school so he could have a better education and more opportunities than they had. We follow Chris as he tries to find his place at school and at home.

The show starts off with Chris at the ripe old age of 13...on the brink of full blown 'teenagerdom'. Chris was filled with amazing thoughts of how cool things would suddenly be once he was 'old'. But he soon learns that becoming a teenager and growing up isn't all that it has cracked up to be. Chris as the oldest of 3 kids is responsible for taking care of his brother Drew and baby sister Tonya. Chris' father, Julius works a bunch of jobs to keep the family afloat while his mother Rochelle works part time and also keeps the kids in line.

Chris attends Corleone Junior High. Which as the title intimates, is in a predominantly Italian neighborhood. Chris, an obvious traget for schoolyard toughs, uses his charm and wit to make new friends and keep under the radar.
